The Ragin’ Cajuns are eager to turn the page. Last season, Marshall handed them a 31–3 defeat in the 2024 Sun Belt Championship Game.  This week's matchup is not just the conference opener—it’s a chance for redemption at home.

After a tough non-conference stretch, including a narrow 34–31 loss at Eastern Michigan, Louisiana enters at 1–3 and is hoping to avoid its worst start in nearly two decades. Their rushing attack, led by Zylan Perry and Bill Davis, remains a strength the duo is among the top rushers in the Sun Belt.

A Rebuilt Marshall Squad

Marshall (2–2) enters its first Sun Belt season with a largely retooled roster and a new head coach, Tony Gibson. Their form has been mixed—early losses to Georgia and Missouri State gave way to a convincing 42–28 win over Middle Tennessee.
